Let's Write an Opera

In our after-school program, "Let's Write an Opera" students work in small groups with our teaching artist team to create and perform original operatic works. Over 10 weeks, students will learn operatic melodies without words, write original stories that suit the melodies, and explore creative ways to present their operas online. Our next session will take place in Spring 2022! View the full schedule below, and check out our spring 2021 performances on our YouTube Channel!

Each zoom class is 90 minutes. Classes will be spent developing creative skills including singing, acting, and storytelling. The collaborative environment builds our students' confidence to express their ideas and their ability to work as a team.  (See spring session schedule below for specifics)

The program is open to students ages 6-18. No prior operatic experience is necessary!
